Central Otago has two dedicated stadiums, and a number of halls and community centres that are able to be used by residents and visitors for recreation and cultural needs. Some are managed directly by Council and others by hall committees. The contact details can be found with each facility by clicking on the links below. Click here for fees and charges.
AlexandraMolyneux Stadium Molyneux Stadium is Central Otago's main indoor recreation venue. The stadium can be found at Molyneux Park off Centennial Avenue. The stadium was built in the 1960s from funds raised from the Alexandra Blossom Festival. It consists of meeting rooms and a full size gymnasium with changing facilities.
The future of the stadium is currently being reviewed by the Alexandra Community Board, which may result in it being upgraded or replaced with a new facility.

Alexandra Community Centre Situated in Skird Street, right in the heart of Alexandra’s CBD, the Alexandra Community Centre is available for hire for a range of community and event based activities.
The facility comprises a 357 seat auditorium, orchestra pit, stage, dressing rooms, storage areas, toilets, ticket and shop kiosks in foyer and a 210m² meeting room. A kitchen is available to use on request. The Alexandra Senior Citizens centre is based in the complex.

ClydeClyde Memorial HallThe Clyde Memorial Hall situated on the corner of Fraser and Newcastle Streets is a standard size community hall which has a stage, supper room, kitchen, foyer and toilet facilities.

CromwellCromwell Memorial HallThe Cromwell Memorial Hall is located on Melmore Terrace, Cromwell adjacent to the Melmore Terrace/Monaghan Street intersection. Initial access is via the kitchen or supper room doors which are located on the eastern side of the building. Keys for the facility are available from the Cromwell Service Centre.
The main hall facility is used for social functions, smallbore rifle, indoor bowls, karate, line dancing, ballet, community meetings, musicals, exhibitions and other community events.
The hall provides the following facilities: an auditorium, supper room, kitchen, west wing, dressing rooms, stage, toilets, ticket and shop kiosks in the foyer, meeting rooms, two external rooms which are accessed off the front entranceway, storage area at the rear of the stage (external access only) and the furnace room (external access).

ManiototoManiototo Park Stadium and Rugby ClubroomsThe Maniototo Stadium floor has courts marked for netball, badminton, basketball and volleyball. Changing room facilities are also in the building.
The Stadium is an ideal venue for weddings, cabarets and funerals. The capacity is 340 people.
There is a viewing gallery which gives a fantastic bird’s eye view of the action below, be it a fast moving netball game or those "tripping the light fantastic" on the dance floor.
The Rugby Clubrooms is the home base for the mighty Maniototo Rugby Club. The clubrooms is also available for hire to the public for functions. It is carpeted and seats 100 people comfortably for dining.
The Stadium and Rugby Clubrooms share a commercial kitchen, a separate bar room - both of which can be accessed from either the Stadium or Rugby Clubrooms.

Naseby Town HallThe historic Naseby Town Hall situated on Leven St echoes with the past of yesteryear and once upon a time the local jail was situated in the basement of the hall. The hall has a capacity of 100 persons and includes a stage, supper room, foyer and toilet facilities.

Ranfurly Town HallThe Ranfurly Town Hall is on Northland St. The hall has a foyer, stage, kitchen, supper room, ticketing office, bar, toilets and a projector room. The hall is set up with 191 removable theatre seats. Lighting and a sound system can be hired by arrangement with the Ranfurly Drama Club. The hall is an ideal venue for theatre and concerts.

Waipiata Memorial HallThe Waipiata Memorial Hall situated in the heart of the Waipiata town is a credit to the small rural committee who oversee the day to day management of the hall. The hall boasts a sprung dance floor, a piano and a supper room adjacent to the kitchen. The acoustics of the hall are superb which makes this a great venue for concerts, dances or just a social gathering. The capacity of the hall is 280 persons.

Wedderburn HallThe Wedderburn Hall is situated beside the popular Rail Trail. The hall is mud brick with a stage area and kitchen - a truly authentic town hall run by a local committee. The capacity is 70 persons.

Poolburn - Moa Creek Community HallLocation
Poolburn - Moa Creek Road, Poolburn, Central Otago (top end of the Ida Valley)
Facilities
Main Hall (maximum capacity 150 persons), stage and side access, front wheel chair access, seating and tables available, men’s and women’s toilets and showers. Ideal for weddings, conferences, group tours, large meetings, meals, dances/balls etc.
- Good sized caterer’s kitchen (2 ovens, 2 sinks, zip, microwave, generous bench space and storage)
- Supper room (used for meetings, local playgroup, sports clubs, school groups etc)

Adjacent to the hall supper room is a fenced BBQ area, 3 fenced, ashphalt tennis/netball courts and a cricket ground (artificial wicket). There is also a large grassed area for generous vehicle parking (ideal for campervan tours etc). A recently upgraded, fully fenced playground (2008).

RoxburghRoxburgh Town Hall and Entertainment Centre The Roxburgh Town Hall is located on Scotland Street. The facility comprises a 258 seat auditorium, movie screen and projection room, dressing rooms, stage, storage areas, toilets, ticket and shop kiosk in the foyer. Located to the rear of the building is the recently upgraded dance hall accommodating 300 people, supper room, kitchen and toilets. The facility is used for showing movies, musicals and other social functions.
The Roxburgh Entertainment Centre Improvement Committee (RECIC) operates the movies in the town and are a very active group.
