Swimming Pools

Looking for a place to keep fit, relax and socialise?

Council operates five pools in the district available for use by residents and visitors.

Molyneux Aquatic Centre

Located in Molyneux Park, Alexandra, Molyneux Aquatic Centre was built in 2003 to replace the old Centennial Baths which were sited near the Linger and Die.

The Molyneux Aquatic Centre is a very popular facility for residents and visitors of the Dunstan Basin and beyond.   Molyneux Aquatic Centre offers both indoor and outdoor facilities, including an indoor heated 25 metre lane pool, therapeutic/learners pool, spa pool and an outdoor pool.

Various programmes are available at the pool, including aqua aerobics, kayak polo, swimming lessons, holiday programmes and pool parties.

Cromwell Swim Centre

Located in Anderson Park, the Cromwell Swim Centre was built in the early 1980s as part of the Clyde Dam redevelopment.  The Cromwell Swim Centre is currently being upgraded and extended and on completion will have an indoor 25 metre lane pool, a therapeutic and learners pool, toddlers pool, spa pool and a gymnasium.

Various programmes are operated from the facility, including aqua aerobics and swim classes.

Clyde Pool

The Clyde Pool opens at the end of the primary school year which is around December 20th and concludes on or about March the 1st.

During the holidays and weekends it is open 1.00pm – 6.00pm and during the school term it is open 3.30pm – 6.00pm.

The pool consists of an outdoor lane pool and toddlers pool. There is plenty of seating and shade available for those nice summer picnics.

Ranfurly Pool

Located on John Street, Ranfurly.  Ranfurly Pool is open over the summer months with supervised sessions.  The indoor facility consists of a small toddlers pool and a 27 metre lane pool.  The pool is heated by a heat pump and solar gain.

Roxburgh Pool

Roxburgh Pool is located at the north end of Cheviot Street, Roxburgh (adjacent to the river), and is open over the summer months. The outdoor pool is 30.48m x 10.16m and the depth varies from 1m to 1.45m.  The pool is heated by solar gain.

The Roxburgh Community is currently investigating the replacement of this pool.

Millers Flat Pool

Located on Teviot Road, Millers Flat (adjacent to the river) the Millers Flat pool is open over the summer months.  The outdoor pool is managed by a committee and has recently had the changing rooms, plant and solar heating system upgraded.
