Temporary Road Closures

Closure of part of Poolburn-Moa Creek Road, Poolburn to ordinary vehicle traffic
Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulation 1965, notice is hereby given that Central Otago District Council for the purpose of the Otago Motorcycle Club ¼ mile sprint proposes to close the following road to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder.

During the proposed period of closure the following provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road.

    Detour via Moa Creek Road and Webster Lane.

Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge notice of their objection and grounds thereof in writing, before 6 November 2009 at the office of Central Otago District Council, 1 Dunorling Street, Alexandra, PO Box
122.

Period of closure: Saturday 21 November 2009 between the hours of 9:30am and 5:00pm. Should bad weather stop the event the event will be held on Sunday 22 November 2009.

Road proposed to be closed to ordinary traffic:

    Poolburn-Moa Creek Road between Ida Valley-Omakau Road and Nevill Lane

Period of proposed closure: Saturday 21 November 2009 between the hours of 9.30am and 5.00pm. If the event is cancelled due to bad weather the event will be held the next day Sunday 22 November 2009.

Fire Season Status - Restricted

A Restricted Fire Season over the Central Otago District is now in force in the urban and rural areas.  To obtain a permit contact Central Otago District Council or any of the Council Service Centres.

A permit to burn in the open air must be obtained before a fire is ignited.
