Resource Consent Applications

The Council has received applications for resource consent as set out below.

If you wish to make a submission on an application, you may do so by sending a written submission to the Chief Executive Officer, Central Otago District Council, 1 Dunorling Street, (PO Box 122), Alexandra, no later than 4.00pm on the date of closing of submissions.

The submission must be dated, signed by you and include the following information:

  1. Your name, postal address, telephone number and facsimile number (if applicable).
  2. Details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission, including location.
  3. Whether you support or oppose the application.
  4. Your submission, with reasons.
  5. The decision you wish the Council to make.
  6. Whether you wish to be heard in support of your submission.

A form for the making of a submission is available from any office of the Council.

The application may be viewed at the Council offices at Alexandra, Cromwell, Ranfurly and Roxburgh during normal office hours.

A copy of your submission must be served as soon as reasonably practicable on the applicant.

Subdivision consent is sought to create two allotments with areas of 1.171ha and 2.130ha (to be amalgamated with an adjoining allotment) in the Rural Residential Resource Area, (an average of 1.8004ha), when subdivision creating allotments with an average area of less than 2ha is a non-complying activity in terms of Rule 4.7.2(ii)(a)(i) of the Central Otago District Plan.

Subdivision consent is sought to create a total of seven allotments in the Rural Resource Area, five with areas of between 3.6 and 3.1 hectares, one with an area of 54.58 and two further allotments with areas of 37.77 and 20.50 hectares (to be amalgamated and containing an existing dwelling) on land subject to a hazard notation which is a discretionary activity in terms of Rule 4.7.4(iii)(d) of the operative Central Otago District Plan and a discretionary activity in terms of deemed Plan Change 6.  Building platforms have been identified on those allotments not containing an existing dwelling.

APPLICANT    Cornish Point Developments Ltd (RC 080134)

DESCRIPTION OF APPLICATION
Subdivision consent is sought to create five allotments in the Rural Resource Area with areas of between 15.2 hectares and 22.6 hectares on land subject to a hazard notation which is a discretionary activity in terms of Rule 4.7.4(iii)(d) of the operative Central Otago District Plan and a discretionary activity in terms of deemed Plan Change 6. 

Building platforms have been identified on all allotments.

Land use consent is sought for earthworks for tracks and earthworks required in association with the upgrade and construction of roading and access to service the subdivision.  Earthworks may exceed the specified 2m cut or fill batter height which is a discretionary (restricted) activity in terms of Rule 4.7.6J(a) of the operative Central Otago District Plan and involve volumes greater that 3000m³ or covering an area of greater than 2000m² which is a discretionary activity in terms of Rule 4.7.6J(b) of the operative Central Otago District Plan.

Land use consent is sought to establish residential activity on each of the building platforms identified which is a controlled activity in terms of Rule 4.7.2(i) of the amended Proposed Central Otago District Plan.
