Friday 3rd February 2017, 3pm Update: 

​Access to Lake Onslow Road will be re-instated for 4WD vehicles only by late afternoon on Friday 3rd February 2017.
Please drive with extreme caution.
 
In the Maniototo, the roads in the Paerau-Styx area require extra care as the road surface has been affected by the recent flooding.
Our contractors are still working in this area and while the roads are open, please slow down and drive to the conditions.​​

​​4WD Track Conditions

Serpentine Track Vehicle Access

This public 4WD track, on the Rough Ridge mountains off the Old Dunstan Road, is not maintained and is currently in very poor condition. Council urges extreme caution on this track and stresses that it should not be used for single vehicle travel, but by groups of experienced 4WDers in convoy with full recovery gear carried at all times.
