Council is calling for feedback on its 2017/18 Annual Plan.
This year, due to changes in legislation, we are only consulting on significant changes from Year 3 of our Long Term Plan 2015/25 (LTP) or on projects or funding that are completely new.
The two key consultation issues in this year's Annual Plan are funding options for the Maniototo Community Healthcare Facility Project and the proposed Central Otago Touring Route.
Maniototo Health Services Ltd has made a request to the Maniototo Community Board to fund part of the $5.5million Maniototo Community Healthcare Facility Project that would see the current rest home extended and refurbished to accommodate 29 beds serving as both a hospital and a rest home facility.
Maniototo Health Services Ltd requested funding of $2 million towards the development. Three options are proposed with funding levels ranging from $1 million to $2 million. Council is keen to hear the views of Maniototo ratepayers on these.
Council is also proposing to develop a nationally recognised, signed and marketed self-drive touring route through Central Otago, with project costs estimated at $187,000. Council is keen to gauge community support for this project as well as the route options.
A 12-page consultation document and submission form, plus supporting information including financial statements, are available here on Council's website and at Council's service centres.
The 12 months ahead is very much about getting on with business as usual, delivering services and implementing programmes as planned and budgeted for in our LTP.
We are looking at an average district rates rise of 2.8%. You can find out what this could mean for your business or household by entering your property details into the handy online calculator on our website.
Have your say by 5pm, Monday 24 April.
