Opportunities to engage with the Cromwell 'Eye to the Future' Masterplan are coming up this month.
"We're now moving into a public engagement phase and we're very keen to get as much feedback as possible from Cromwell residents and groups during this time," says CODC Chief Executive Sanchia Jacobs.
A series of public drop-in sessions are being held during June. The first is this Saturday 2 June from 10am-1pm and the second on Wednesday 6 June from 3-6pm. Both are at the Cromwell Public Library.
Another drop-in session will be held at The Mall frontage on Saturday 16 June 10-1pm. A further session is also being planned and will be announced in due course. A public survey will also be run in June.
A public survey will also run in June.
"Anyone is welcome to come along to the public drop-in sessions and have a chat about the Masterplan — these are important opportunities to have a say. Give us your feedback on what you think about your town. We really want to know what your ideas are," said Ms Jacobs.
Sessions for industry, business and other sector representatives are also planned. These sessions will primarily be to discuss and seek feedback on emerging programme themes.
The early themes that came out of the initial set-up workshops are:
- Attracting people to places where they congregate, celebrate, generate vibrancy and make us proud.
- Accommodating growth while protecting our heritage/landscape values and enhancing our sense of belonging.
- Housing choices that address affordability and support a resilient, diverse and productive community
- We identify and harness opportunities for economic development as our town and population grow.
The Masterplan team will also be meeting with government agencies and running a session with Cromwell College students to get their ideas.
Following this initial community engagement phase, the team will be developing a shortlist of Masterplan options that will be presented to the Cromwell Community Board (the project's investor) in September. These options will then be put out to the Cromwell community for further engagement and feedback in October. There will also be an opportunity for Cromwell residents to feedback on the final outcomes of the Masterplan programme as part of the formal consultation for the Annual Plan. That will be in June next year.
In the meantime, if you're interested in the Masterplan programme come along to a public drop-in session where you can talk with some of the team or get in touch on email@example.com or 445-0211.
