Dog rego time - avoid penalties in 2022

Update - 7 August 2022

It's past the time (31 July) for dogs to be registered, and now a 50% late penalty will be incurred.

On 1 September, any outstanding registration(s) will receive a $300 Infringement for failure to register your dog(s). So please get in now to avoid the fine.

It’s that time of year when dog registration is about to roll around.

A couple of things to note when registering your dog for 2022-2023:

• Registration opens on 1 July 2022 – you can’t do it before then because the new registration year needs to kick in first.
• If registering in Central Otago for the first time or it’s a new dog, you must provide the microchip number. If you don’t know it, animal control can arrange for the dog to be scanned or just ask your vet.
• And…because this year we’ve had to remove more than 1000 duplicate reg the dog records, if you’ve forgotten your password or are stuck, please email us (dogs@codc.govt.nz) rather than creating a new account.
