Bridge Inspections from 3 October

From Monday 3 October, the Central Otago District Council will be completing special access inspections on a number of bridges.

These will be completed by the Council’s contractors Beca and Fulton Hogan using a special bridge inspection unit truck and drones.

The inspections are part of an ongoing maintenance programme for the district’s bridges. As a result, there will be some delays while aspects of each bridge are inspected.

Some disruption in 15 to 20 minute blocks is expected where traffic will be stopped to complete the inspections. Due to the unpredictable nature of weather and river levels etc, stoppage times and dates cannot be scheduled. However, each bridge should not take more than a few hours to inspect depending on what is found. Patience and cooperation will be appreciated.
