Swimming Pool Safety Checks

Council will be carrying out brief swimming pool and barrier checks across the district as part of routine updates to our records.
These checks will commence from 20 April.
A Council building officer may visit your property to:
• View the pool and surrounding barrier area
• Confirm details are up to date
What to expect:
• Quick visit – approximately 10–15 minutes
• No cost to the property owner
• Minimal disruption
If you are not home, the officer may carry out a visual check of the pool area from accessible areas to complete a general overview.
These checks help ensure Council records remain accurate and support ongoing pool safety across our community.
This visit is separate from your regular pool inspection requirements. If your property is due for a scheduled pool inspection in 2026, this will still occur as planned.
