Caution advised across the network, areas have been heavily gritted. Snow clearing is still ongoing; the main arterial routes have been cleared but please bear with us while we clear the adjoining roads.
Forecast is showing snow showers overnight and freezing, sub-zero temperatures. Please take care, slow down and drive to the conditions.
- Danseys Pass Road from the gates near the hotel remains closed – 4X4 access only from Ridge Rd
- Kyeburn River Road – gravel section is 4X4 access only

Snow is continuing to fall and settle across the region, and we expect these hazardous conditions to last throughout the day. Road crews are working hard to clear snow and grit the roads, but significant risks remain.
CURRENT HAZARDS
Heavy Snow: Settling in Omakau, Poolburn, Ida Valley, Naseby, St Bathans, and Ranfurly.
New Snow: Reports show snow is now starting to fall in the Bannockburn and Lindis areas.
Black Ice: Watch out! Extreme caution is needed around bridge decks and shaded areas.
ROAD CLOSURES & RESTRICTIONS
Poolburn Hill: NOW CLOSED from Omakau to Poolburn.
Danseys Pass Road: Closed from the gates near the hotel. 4X4 ONLY access from Ridge Rd.
Kyeburn River Road: Gravel section is 4X4 ONLY access.
