9 October 2019
If you're travelling up Clyde Hill over the coming weeks, please be aware of construction in the area as work to install the Lake Dunstan Water Supply pipeline continues.
A 50kph speed restriction is already in place as Council contractors are busy welding pipes and trenching alongside State Highway 8.
From 14 October, the passing lane heading up Clyde Hill will be closed and there will be temporary speed restrictions, allowing traffic to pass through the area safely and work to proceed.
The passing lane will be closed for about 8-10 weeks depending on how work progresses.
Initially three road crossings for the pipeline will be developed, before trenching, pipeline installation and drilling gets underway.
Road users are asked to take extra care and be aware of their surroundings while travelling through the area.
Crews will be doing some work on Saturdays so it's likely that cones and signs will be in place over weekends. However, where it's safe to do so, traffic management signage will be removed.
