Central Otago District Council will be introducing time-restricted parking in Clyde from late March/early April.
At its 11 March meeting the Council considered a report regarding implementation options for parking restrictions in the Clyde business area.
With the recent growth within the region, the Clyde business area has become a more popular destination for visitors and locals. This has led to an increased demand for parking and calls from the public to consider parking restrictions.
To manage this demand Council has agreed to add a 120-minute parking zone on both sides of Sunderland Street between Naylor Street and Lodge Lane to the Roading Bylaw schedule.
Council also signalled that it will consult on whether to extend time-restricted parking to a wider area of the Clyde town centre as part of Roading Bylaw review later this year, which will also include a review of existing restrictions in Alexandra and Cromwell.
