Councillor Connection

14 November 2016

Do you have something you wish to discuss with Council?

Central Otago District Council is launching Councillor Connection sessions, starting on 14 December.

The purpose of Councillor Connection, introduced by Mayor Tim Cadogan, is for individuals or groups in Central Otago to get to speak to the Council about any topic they wish, with a maximum of 10 minutes each. These sessions will be held prior to every Council meeting and speakers can chose to attend in person or connect remotely via teleconference or Skype.

"You may have a great idea, a pressing concern, a question you always wanted the answer to; the scope is wide open.  Our role will be to listen, and my role will be to respond to you in writing within 10 days," said Mayor Cadogan.

"My hope is that the community will use this opportunity to be heard directly by the Councillors so that we can all work together more effectively for the betterment of Central Otago."

There will be a limit of six months between each visit by an individual or group.
