A big pool party is being planned for Monday 30 September at Cromwell Swim Centre and all the community is invited to join in the fun.
The Cromwell Swim Centre’s 25m lane pool has been closed since mid-June for tiling, so the reopening of the main pool is being celebrated with a day full of activities and free pool entry for all.
Opening speeches will take place from 11.30am, followed by a barbecue lunch at midday.
The inflatables will be up from 1-3pm and there will be loads of games with prizes, including a lolly scramble and ‘Tile Battleship’.
The opening day celebrations have been generously sponsored by Stylish Tiles, the supplier of the pool’s stylish and practical new surface.
Cromwell Swim Centre Team Leader Angie Calder said it was great to have the centre full reopen on schedule and in time for the school holidays.
“With all day free entry what an opportunity for families looking for something fun to do with the kids to start the holidays and for the wider community it is a chance to come and have a look at the pool makeover and have a dip too.”
From Monday 30 September normal Cromwell Swim Centre operating hours resume. These are:
- Monday-Friday 5.30am-7.30pm
- Saturday 9am-6pm
- Sunday 10am-6pm
The public was invited during the partial reopening (public access to the therapeutic and spa pool) to guess the number of individually laid tiles/tile pieces it would take to tile the lap pool. All correct entries were eligible for the “Count the Tiles” prize draw, and the winner of a swim prize pack sponsored by Zoggs will be announced on opening day.
