Teviot Valley Intercultural Public Art Project
The Teviot Valley Community Development Group and the Central Otago District Arts Trust have commissioned internationally renowned artists Flox and TrustMe to complete an intercultural public art piece which speaks of the Valley's heritage, history and values. Four community workshops were held over three days, where attendees were encouraged to verbally and visually represent their cultures and what the Valley means to them, as well as learn practicable skills of street art.
This project has been kindly supported by Department of Internal Affairs, Central Lakes Trust, Otago Community Trust, Creative Communities NZ, and Trust Power Lend a Hand
A special thanks to all of the Teviot Valley community and businesses for your support and contributions to the project.
Flox and TrustMe will be working on the mural from Monday 13 - Friday 17 January. Do check out Central Otago Arts Trust Facebook page to see photos documenting the creation of mural, or better yet check it out in vivid colour at 96 Scotland Street.
