CODC has introduced a new price schedule for its pools and will soon roll out an exciting new activity programme in a bid to attract more of the community to use the facilities more often.

From 1 July new fees will come into effect for Molyneux Aquatic Centre in Alexandra and Cromwell Swim Centre that make multi-swim membership cards and yearly passes a more affordable option for both individuals and families.

Annual pass prices have dropped by 20% from 2019/20 with a child price for 2020/21 now $240 and an adult pass $480. Gold card, community services card and tertiary students card holders get 17% off the adult membership prices.

A new option for families has been introduced with a prepaid swim membership for a family set at $709 for 12 months or $429 for 6 months.

For those who don't wish to pay up front CODC has also introduced direct debit swim membership options.

Casual pool admission charges for the 2020/21 year remain at $6.50 for an adult (18 years+), $5.50 for gold, community services and tertiary student card holders, and a child entry is $3.50.

Aquatics Manager Shane Allan said that as well as making it affordable to stay fit and active all-year with cheaper membership options, the team at the pools have been working on developing fresh ideas for activities.

"We're still in the planning stages but hope to start getting some new activities launched in the coming months. Some of the ideas we have include more aquarobics and aqua fit classes, swim carnivals, tournaments across sporting codes, kayak polo and scuba diving lessons."
