Geological survey underway at Manuherikia River
The installation of a new reticulated Clyde wastewater system and a new wastewater pipeline is a significant project that will improve environmental outcomes for our district.
A critical stage in this project is identifying the best route for the Clyde wastewater pipeline to cross the Manuherekia River to connect up with the Alexandra wastewater treatment plant.
This week (24-28 August), a geological survey is being done to assessing the best place for the pipeline to cross the river. This is in the area known as 'Linger and Die’ adjacent to Rivers Street.
Work will only be carried out in normal business hours. All safety precautions, including signage and fencing, will be in place. Tracks in the area will be open but please be aware that work may be underway in adjacent areas.
We do not anticipate any significant disruption to local residents.
If you have any concerns while the geological survey is underway, please contact the Council on 440 0056 or email us at email@example.com.
