Cromwell Community Board purchase property and land
The Cromwell Community Board is excited to announce the purchase of 7a, 7b and 9 Murray Terrace, Cromwell. This purchase is an outcome of the Spatial Plan, being Stage 1 of the “Eye to the Future” Cromwell Masterplan adopted in May 2019. The Spatial Plan introduces a precinct approach to the Town Centre development in Cromwell including a link road within an existing carpark, enabling consolidation of ‘front and back’ development either side of the link road within Murray Terrace. Purchase of the properties is key to achieving the Northwest Precinct which will encourage mixed use development in the town centre.
The two buildings on 7a and 7b Murray Terrace are currently tenanted, and the land on 9 Murray Terrace is being leased. All three properties are returning rental income to the Council while development options are explored.
Cromwell Community Board Chair Anna Harrison explains, “This is a key part of the puzzle and will enable us to progress conversations with the community on how we develop the town centre following adoption of the Long-term Plan (LTP). The consultation document will be released on 26 March. We encourage you, the community to get involved in the LTP and tell us what you want for your town.”
