CODC advertising for architectural services for Cromwell Hall project
Central Otago District Council has gone to market this month with a request for proposal (RFP) to secure an architect to design and contract manage the Cromwell Memorial Hall/Events Centre build.
The RFP was loaded to the New Zealand Government Electronic Tenders Service platform on 1 October and will close on Monday 1 November 2021.
Cromwell Masterplan Project Manager Darren Penketh said CODC was seeking an architect to create, collaborate and contract manage the demolition of the existing Cromwell Memorial Hall and the construction of a new Cromwell Memorial Hall/Events Centre.
“Council is looking for credible providers who have the capability, capacity and experience to deliver the best solution for the community. We want proposals to capture a commitment to providing the best value for money, sustainable outcomes and a connection to our region’s history and Central Otago – A World of Difference values and stories.”
Council is looking to award a contract by late November. The successful architect will then lead the design phase of the project from late 2021 through to the current proposed target start date for demolition and construction of mid-2022.
An External Stakeholder Group is being created for the design phase of the Cromwell Memorial Hall/Events Centre Project. The purpose of the group is to ensure that a cross-section of views from the community continues to be heard and taken into account as the design phase of the project continues. Invitations have been extended to five organisations to be represented on that group: the Cromwell Cultural Centre Trust, the Cromwell Museum, the Cromwell Town & Country Club, the Fine Thyme Theatre Company and the Cromwell RSA.
