Proposal to make Lodge Lane pedestrian only up for community feedback
A proposal to make Lodge Lane in Clyde a pedestrian/cyclist-only space to enhance the village atmosphere will be open for public feedback from 30 September to 30 October 2024.
Lodge Lane received a makeover three years ago as part Central Otago District Council’s Clyde Heritage Precinct Upgrade project.
The upgrade to create a shared public space and a central community hub at the ‘heart’ of Clyde was consulted on with the community through Council’s 2018 10-Year Plan.
The next steps would be to ask people whether they want the space to be pedestrian/cyclist only, CODC Senior Land Development Engineer Dan Kirkman said.
“With the work on Sunderland Street progressing, and Clyde opening up again from December, it’s time to ask the community what they think about Lodge Lane and whether they want it to be vehicle free and its future function in the village of Clyde.”
People can give their feedback from Monday 30 September on Let’s Talk:
