Enhancing business leadership skills and confidence for newcomers
Welcoming Communities and Business South collaborated for the third year running to provide two aspiring Central Otago newcomers a chance to attend the Leadership Academy in Cromwell.
Adam Stobo-Wright, living in Cromwell, and Bianca Le-Gall, from the Māniatoto, were the successful recipients of the 2024 newcomer scholarships.
“The emphasis on effective communication and team-building skills has equipped me to foster a more collaborative and motivated work environment,” Adam said. “The strategic planning sessions were invaluable, demonstrating how to set clear, achievable goals and develop actionable plans to reach them.”
Bianca said she had come away from the course with “priceless information” and was impressed by the calibre and broad range of successful businessmen and women sharing their knowledge and expertise.
They both encourage newcomers to look out for future courses and to remember the value of including the benefit to community in their applications.
