​Time to razzle them, dazzle them!

It was showtime at the Cromwell memorial hall and event centre recently - well, maybe about 10 months early!

Like many people in the community lately, various Central Otago theatre production groups have been given a tour to see the progress on the build on Melmore Terrace, Cromwell – and to scope out the community areas, and of course the theatre space.

Katie Lindsay, Musical Theatre New Zealand – Zone 5 Regional Liaison was there.

“I was thrilled to bring together representatives from seven groups across the region for a tour of the new performing arts space.

“The venue promises incredible potential for theatre, exhibitions, conferences, and events, and will attract artists from both within the region and beyond — a true regional asset that everyone will want to perform in or be entertained in.

“It will inspire both current and future generations to create, perform, and celebrate the arts. We all felt a real sense of pride in having both the RSA and museum as part of the facility. The centre will honour our history while serving as a vibrant community hub for all.”
