Saint Bathans Loop Road Sunday 14 January 2024, 7am to 7pm | Saint Bathans fete The closure will be installed between Saint Bathans Downs Road and the North end of Saint Bathans. There will be a detour route available via Saint Bathans Downs Road, Saint Bathans Back Road, Saint Bathans Loop Road and State Highway 85. | |
Roxburgh Thursday 21 December 2023, 5pm to 8pm | Hawick Street and Roxburgh Service Lane, Roxburgh will be closed between Scotland Street and Branxholm Street. | Community Christmas Event Alternate routes are available via Jedburgh Street and Kelso Street for traffic that would otherwise use this road. Clyde Saturday 1 December 2023, 2pm to 10pm | Lodge Lane | Christmas Markets Event Lodge Lane, Clyde will be closed between Sunderland Street and Holloway Street. This is for the purpose of a Christmas Markets Event on Lodge Lane. Alternate routes via Holloway Street and Sunderland Street will be available for all road users. |
Millers Flat Wednesday 15 November & Friday 17 November, 7am to 6pm | Pringle Road | Pole replacements and power line works This is for the purpose of Pole replacements and power line works where a power outage in scheduled. All residents will be assisted by site staff for access to their properties. |
Clyde Saturday 11 November, 10.30am to 12.30pm | Sunderland Street | Harley Davis Thunder Run Event Sunderland Street, Clyde will be closed between Naylor Street and Holloway Street. Detours will be in place via Holloway Street and Fraser Street for traffic that would otherwise use this road. Residents will always have access and footpaths will be open to pedestrians. |
Alexandra From Monday 30 October to Monday 6 November | Brandon Street | Water renewal work 1 lane of Brandon Street, Alexandra, will be closed between Centennial Ave and Kenmare Street. And then between Centennial Ave and Ventry Street. Detours will be in place via Shannon St, Kenmare St and Moa St, Matau St and Ventry St for traffic that would otherwise use these roads. Residents will have access at all times. |
Nevis Road The Nevis Road will remain closed until 10 November. NOW OPEN AHEAD OF SCHEDULE | Extended Temporary Road Closure Due to extensive damage the Nevis Road will remain closed to all vehicular traffic, from the Commissioners Creek to the Southland District Councils boundary. There are multiple land slips and washouts caused by severe rainfall and snow melt events making the road impassable. Councils maintenance contractor is working to reopen the road to the public as soon as possible Due to unpredictable damage the Nevis Road will remain closed until Friday 10 November. | |

Cromwell Sunday 15 October from 7am to 6pm | Mount Pisa Road | Central Otago Motorsport event. Mount Pisa Road in Cromwell will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic from State Highway 6 (Luggate – Cromwell Road). There will be no detour in place for traffic that would otherwise use this road. Residents will have access to their properties but may have delays. |
Alexandra Sunday 10 October 2023 from 9am to 5pm | Little Valley Road | Central Otago Motorsport Club Gravel Road Sprint. Little Valley Road, 1.8km from Tarbert Street (SH85) for a length of 5km will be closed. There will be no detour in place for traffic that would otherwise use this road. |
Alexandra Thursday 28 September 2023 from 7am to 6pm | Spencer Street | Replacement of electricity poles. Spencer Street, Alexandra, will be closed between Royal Terrace and Killarney Street. Detours will be in place via Simmonds Street and Enterprise Street for traffic that would otherwise use these roads. Residents will have access at all times. |
Alexandra Thursday 28 September 2023, 8am to 5pm | Brandon Street | Electricity poles being replaced. One lane of Brandon Street (Eastbound), Alexandra, will be closed between Centennial Ave and Kenmare Street. Detours will be in place via Shannon Street and Moa Street for traffic that would otherwise use these roads. Residents will have access at all times. |
Alexandra 22 September 2023 | Rivers Street and Skird Street | Blossom Festival Mardi Gras and Motocross event Rivers Street, Alexandra, will be closed between Thompson Street and 32 Rivers Street. Times of closure will be 1.00pm to 9.00pm on Friday 22 September 2023. Walton Street will also be closed and a section of Thompson Street between Skird Street & Rivers Street. Times of closure will be 3.00pm to 9.00pm on Friday 22 September. A detour will be in place via Tarbert Street and Skird Street for traffic that would otherwise use these roads. |
Clyde Sunday 19 September - Thursday 21 September. (9am - 4pm each day) | Young Lane | Tree Removal Will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic from Springvale Road to State Highway 8 for removal of dangerous trees by powerlines from 9am to 4pm each day and opened up in evenings. All residents will still have access to their properties. There will be detours in place for traffic via Springvale Road and SH8. |
Cromwell Monday 18 September & Tuesday 19 September from 9am to 4pm | Burn Cottage Road | A section of Burn Cottage Road, Cromwell between McFellin Rd and State Highway 6 will be closed. Residents and school bus will have access.
An alternative route will be in place via Heaney Road and Lowburn Road for traffic that would otherwise use these roads. |
Clyde 28 August to the end of October 2023 | Sunderland Street | Storm Water Upgrades Closed to ordinary vehicular traffic from Holloway Street to Naylor Street. All stores will remain open, and access available for pedestrians and cyclists. There will be detours in place for traffic via Matau Street, Fraser Street, Fache Street and Holloway Street. Residents will have access to their properties at all times. |
