CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS - HELP US LAUNCH AN ATTACK ON LITTER!
SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER FROM 10:00am
Clean Up Week is New Zealand’s largest clean-up event and will take place all over NZ between 18 and 25 September. Here in Alexandra and Clyde, we will be collecting litter on Sunday 20 September from 10:00am. We’d love you to come and help us make a positive and tangible impact in your local community as we prepare for summer.
And we have a small KACB gift for all Tidy Kiwi children who help!
There are two starting options:
>Boundary Rd, Alexandra. Family-friendly, safer option. Meet outside Humes opposite the campervan dump station.
>Earnscleugh Rd between Alex and Clyde. Meet at intersection of Earnsleugh and Laing Roads. This collection is on the road verges so is less suitable for children.
WHAT TO BRING: Protective gloves and your water bottle. A high-vis vest if you have one, and we suggest sturdy shoes.
WE WILL SUPPLY: Some high-vis vests, disposable gloves, collection bags and refreshments.
HOW IT WORKS: Bev Thomson will lead the Boundary Rd group. Helen Williamson will lead the Earnscleugh Rd group.
Each person will be supplied with two different coloured rubbish bags - one for recyclable stuff, the other for landfill rubbish.
Leave the full bags on the side of the road and our committee members, Jo and Joe, will be driving along with a trailer to pick them up and take them to the Transfer Station.
At 11:30am, we are offering hot drinks, water, and a nibble.
Be a tidy Kiwi and come along and enjoy the fun at the same time as a whole lot of other New Zealanders!
