Candidates confirmed for local elections

Congratulations to the confirmed candidates for the upcoming elections on 11 October 2025.

Central Otago had 29 nominations in 2022. This number has nearly doubled this year with 58 nominations, and 54 candidates standing across the mayoralty, council and four community boards.

Look out for notifications for 'Meet the candidates' evenings, so you can go along and meet who is standing this year. These will be published in print and social media.
