Investigating Location Options for Roxburgh Entertainment Centre
At the meeting tomorrow (Thursday 20 November 2025), the Teviot Valley Community Board will be considering a recommendation that the Roxburgh Entertainment Centre project steering group investigate alternative locations for the rebuild of the community facility.
The possibility of looking at other sites was first floated by a few community board members following the appointment of the four external stakeholders to the project steering group in July.
The idea was to explore whether the site of the old entertainment facility, which burnt down in February, was the best option for Roxburgh’s future and the revitalisation of the town centre.
If the community board proceeds with the recommendation to explore other sites, it will go to next week’s Council meeting (Wednesday 26 November) for approval. If the recommendation is approved, a report will be presented to the community board and Council meetings in March next year with the findings to help guide a decision on alternative locations.
