Andrew Dowling elected as Vincent Ward Councillor

Vincent Ward voters have chosen Andrew Dowling as Vincent Ward Councillor.
The final result for the Central Otago District Council by-election for the Vincent Ward, which closed at midday on Tuesday 3 March 2026, has been confirmed.
The final vote tally is as follows:
- Andrew Dowling – 1,226
- Louise Van der Voort – 903
- Nat Jamieson – 893
Voter turnout was 36.44 per cent, with a total of 3,033 votes cast.
Council thanks all three candidates for putting themselves forward and participating in the by-election.
The by-election was prompted by the withdrawal of councillor-elect Dave McKenzie in October 2025.
Mr Dowling will be sworn in at the Council meeting on 25 March 2026 in Ranfurly.
