Removal of trees in Centrepoint carpark starts 24 March

Contractors will begin the removal of three trees in the Centrepoint carpark on Tuesday 24 March and expect to finish on Wednesday 25 March. The entire Centrepoint carpark will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians during these two days.

Council made the decision to remove these trees at their meeting on 17 December 2025, following reports of drainage issues on the roofs of surrounding buildings, leading to internal flooding.

Replacement planting that provides amenity and visual appeal without risking future damage to surrounding infrastructure will be undertaken.
