Cromwell's got a new stage - and we want YOU on it
Something exceptional and exciting is opening in Cromwell – and you’re invited to play a part.
Te Puna Mahara - Cromwell Memorial Events Centre is our community’s sparkling new arts haven, set on the shores of spectacular Lake Dunstan. The landmark facility features a 400-seat theatre, 40-seat cinema, dance studio, café and bar, plus an assortment of inspiring spaces run by some of the finest folk since the gold rush.
We’ll be hosting a community opening weekend on 18-19 July and we’re calling on Central Otago’s performers; from cultural groups and choirs to musos, magicians, dancers and drum groups – anyone keen to help us celebrate. Got a short performance to share? A culture-filled curation? A talk, concert, pop-up, or roving routine? We’re all ears and welcome all ideas!
The venue’s assortment of spaces will be activated from 10am-5pm, both days, inside and out (weather permitting), and this is an opportunity to showcase your talents on a stage or in a space appropriate to your performance.
Keen? Click the link below and tell us what you’d love to do and what you need to make it happen. The Venues team will curate the weekend and be in touch about next steps.
