Bannockburn Water Main & Reservoir

To support future growth in the Bannockburn area, the current water supply pipeline requires increased capacity. A new watermain has been designed to address this need, extending from the northern side of the Bannockburn Bridge to the existing reservoir site on Hall Road.

In addition to the new pipeline, a second water reservoir will be constructed at the Hall Road site. The new 500m³ bolted steel tank will operate in parallel with the existing concrete reservoir, maintaining the same maximum and minimum operating levels to ensure consistent water supply and system efficiency.

The project has been divided into two separate contracts and awarded to the following:

• Water Main Capacity Upgrade: A new, larger capacity water main will be installed from the northern side of the Bannockburn Bridge to the Hall Road reservoir site.
  • Contractor: South Roads

Construction Update: Excavations began mid-February. This work involves the installation of new pipework from the intersection of Bannockburn Road and Hall Road, progressing up Hall Road towards the reservoir site. Works along Hall Road are now completed.

Works will start at the Felton Road / Bannockburn Road intersection and progress toward Hall Road from 20 May. This stage is expected to take approximately 3–4 weeks.

Residents are advised that pipeline installation work has now begun as part of the Bannockburn Pipeline Project.

Access to properties will be maintained where possible, however brief delays may occur. Please follow directions from onsite traffic management staff and allow extra travel time.

• Reservoir Expansion: A new 500m3 bolted steel reservoir will be constructed at the Hall Road site. This will operate alongside the existing reservoir, doubling storage capacity and improving system efficiency.
