We’re making building inspections a little easier with remote inspections through Objective Build.
Depending on the type of work and site conditions, some inspections can now be completed remotely. These may include under-slab services, blockwork, pre-plaster, pre-line plumbing, retaining walls and some re-inspections.
How does it work?
If your inspection is suitable for a remote inspection, your Building Inspector will contact the person on-site and send them a text with a link to join the inspection.
Key Requirements
- The person on-site must be able to safely access and clearly show the work
- Approved building consent documents must be on-site
- Stable internet connection or mobile data coverage
- Mobile phone 'location services' must be turned on
- A follow-up on-site inspection may still be required
When booking, please have your building consent number (with LBP details where applicable), the inspection type, and the name and mobile number of the person who will be on-site.
If leaving a message to request an inspection, please provide the above details, along with your name and contact number. This will help our team process your booking efficiently.
Remote inspections are offered at Council’s discretion, and some inspections will still need to be completed on site.
Customers are encouraged to carefully read all inspection reports and follow any instructions or requirements identified by the inspector.
