Objectives: To provide leadership and advice for policy decision making, oversight and governance to enable the sustainable development of the Central Otago economy and to contribute to regional economic development strategies. To provide leadership and advice for policy decision-making as to the standard of parks and recreational facilities including swimming pools, libraries, museums and visitor centres.
Planning and Regulatory Portfolio
Lead: Cr Tracy Paterson
Deputy: Cr Nathan McLean
Objective: To provide leadership and advice to support the maintenance and development of all specified facilities and services detailed in accordance with goals and objectives set by the Council, as specified in its scope as follows:
'Any matters relating to the Resource Management Act 1991, the Building Act 2004, Amusement Devices Regulations 1978, the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013, the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990, Food Act 2014, Gambling Act 2003, the Racing Act 2003, the Dog Control Act 1996. Regulatory By-Laws and associated matters relating to that legislation.'
It also provides leadership and advice for policy decision-making, oversight and governance for waste disposal and funding of programmes for these activities.
Roading
Lead: Cr Stu Duncan
Deputy: Cr Curtis Pannett
Objective: To provide advice and leadership for policy decision making for roading, transport and associated funding programmes.
Three Waters
Lead: Cr Cheryl Laws
Deputy: Cr Charlie Sanders
Objective: To provide leadership and advice for policy decision-making, oversight and governance for water, wastewater and stormwater and funding of programmes for these activities.
