Ash: From 20 May 2024, the ash skip bins will no longer be available at the transfer stations for the collection of ash. Ash will need to be cooled and bagged before being disposed of in red kerbside bins or as *general waste at the transfer stations. Wood ash from un-treated wood can also be composted at home and used in gardens.
Batteries: There will be no charge for uncorroded vehicle batteries, household single-use and rechargeable batteries such as button & coin batteries, alkaline batteries, lithium-ion batteries & nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride batteries. Note: Batteries that are leaking, damaged or swollen will not be accepted.
General Waste: We will not accept oversized waste, controlled waste, explosive, flammable, oxidising or corrosive substances, liquid waste, infectious substances, radioactive material or medical waste. *Only cooled, bagged fire ashes will be accepted. Any waste that can cause dust issues must also be bagged.
