Millers Flat Recreation Reserve
Status: Planning and early works phase
Location: Millers Flat Recreation Reserve
Estimated timeframe: October 2025 – February 2026
Overview:
Council has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Teviot Prospects Inc, who are leading the redevelopment of the Millers Flat Recreation Reserve. The group has secured over $600,000 in funding to revitalise the Reserve with new recreational facilities and improved community spaces.
The redevelopment will include:
- Two new hard surface courts on the former bowling green site
- A pump track for bikes and scooters
- An upgraded playground
- A new picnic area for families and visitors
Work on construction is soon to commence with a working bee already held to remove the old tennis court fence. Looking forward, the following dates are indicative of when work will be undertaken.
Site preparation
29 October – 3 November
Tree removal and concrete clearing to prepare the court and play areas.
Court base and asphalt laying
3 November – 5 December
Construction of the court foundation and surfacing with asphalt.
Pump track construction
17 November – 8 December
Installation of the pump track begins.
Court surfacing
19 January – 13 February
Final surfacing of the new courts.
Playground installation
1 February – 14 February
New playground equipment will be installed and made ready for use.
Fencing installation
16 February – 27 February
Fencing around the courts and other key areas.

This project will transform the Millers Flat Recreation Reserve into a vibrant, multi-use community space. The upgrades will:

What to expect
Construction is set to begin shortly, with early works already underway including the removal of the old tennis court fence.
