Plan Change 20: There are five heritage precincts across the Central Otago District (Clyde, Cromwell, Ophir, St Bathans and Naseby). Section 11 of the operative Central Otago District Plan manages built development in the heritage precincts. A resource consent is required for any new structure or any addition or alteration a structure in the heritage precincts.
Plan Change 20 proposes changes to Section 11, introducing Heritage Guidelines and amending matters of discretion that Council can consider, to align with the guidelines. The plan change also amends the information to be provided with resource consents for built development in a heritage precinct to include an assessment against guidelines.
