Street Lighting

Council maintains a network of streetlights in Central Otago’s urban areas, with servicing carried out by local contractors. However, we rely on residents to report faults in residential areas.

To report a faulty light:
If you notice a light is not working, please contact us and we will arrange repairs. Please provide:

The street address
The pole number (if visible)
A brief description of the issue

Private Streetlights
Streetlights in private lanes or rights-of-way are privately owned. Maintenance and power costs are the responsibility of the property owners. Please contact a licensed electrical contractor for repairs.
